BP Refinery (Kwinana)

BP's Kwinana refinery started operations in 1955. It is Western Australia's only oil refinery and, with a nameplate capacity of 146,000 barrels per day, it is Australia's largest oil refinery.
The refinery processes crude oil to manufacture products including LPG, petrol, diesel kerosene, jet fuel, aviation gasoline, heating oil, bitumen and the low-aromatic Opal fuel.

The refinery employs some 450 BP staff and, when in steady-state operations, some 400 contractors.
